Excuse me while I go cry in a corner over how perfect this whole story was...

A beautiful and moving ending to such a lovely series, I really enjoyed reading it, shining stories full of kind characters are a relief in those hard times. Thank you so much to the author for this treasure.

Nice conclusion to the series with some warm feelings.

    Underwhelming? Maybe.

This series is lovely, even if at times is a bit too perfect. The aim was, I believe, to portray homosexuality to the generally conservative Japanese audience in a very sober and positive way, and that's definitely achieved. The characters are all very likable and make a very entertaining read. It's also very interesting to see the cultural shocks between a Japanese-speaking Westerner and his Japanese family.

So yes, i just remembered that i HAVE actually read this whole series lol (3 stars because it was a while ago and im not sure how it was, but i do remember it being very very wholesome and sweet).
But for those of you who might not know the scene, don't look up Tagame hoping to find similar mangas
It's not just yaoi. Tagame is an absolute legend at what he does, and I'd put him on the same level as Tom of Finland, but obviously his work isn't for everyone.
Regardless, I think it's a vital part of the queer art culture and it's important to know who he is in general, even if you don't want to particularly read his work.

The last volume of this manga is absolutely beautiful. I like how the characters change in very significant ways but that is not something rather radical or obvious. Although you know how it's going to end and that the visit is temporary, you still get watery eyed when you get there.

I love the confrontation between west and east when it comes to affection and the perception of masculinity and same sex relationships. From what I gather, the writer focuses on quite different stories, highly sexual ones. Which makes it impressive because this just makes you feel in contact with your emotions in a real touchy way.

Extremely simple yet effective. Lovely story that shows different cultures and an effect that it has on people and relationships. Relatable story that makes me think of my own actions and thoughts at times. Definitely would recommend to anyone who has, is or even never interacted with LGBTQ+ community. Lovely read.

P.s. Mike is hot - change my mind.

  9. Denaiir Denaiir says:

another amazingly emotional volume, the perfect conclusion. The author says in the acknowledgements that for him the series was the perfect length and I agree. I cried like a baby and my life is better for meeting these characters and taking this journey with them.
